Welcome to my blog Public health in Focus! Here I will talk to you about today’s evolving global health challenges. I will talk about everything from controlling infectious diseases to the growing burden of chronic disease to the need for more public education. This blog aims to provide an online gateway to news, commentary and resources related to global health with the ultimate vision to ignite synergies that will reshape thought and practice needed in the effective addressing of our most pressing global health challenges.
Now, to give a little background on myself, I graduated with my Master’s in Public Health from the Global Institute of Public Health at New York University with a concentration in Public Health Leadership. I received my M.S in Biology from Adelphi University and currently work as a Professor of Biology teaching courses in Microbiology, Parasitology, Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology. I have also had the exciting opportunity to work on projects with the NYU Langone Medical Center, New York City Department of Health and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
It is my passion to actively participate in protecting and improving the health of not just individuals and families but communities at large through the promotion of health, education and awareness.
